This fifth edition of the IFSTA Essentials of Fire Fighting was written to serve as a primary text for the firefighter candidate or as a reference text for firefighters already on the job. The manual addresses the fire fighting objectives found in the NFPA® 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, 2008 Edition.  The manual also includes three new appendices, as well as nearly 1280 illustrations and photographs and is a “good fit” for volunteer firefighters who are not involved in fire rescue.  Also included in the manual is a bonus student CD-ROM.
